Filmed between client work, so the examples are current rather than recycled. Each video takes one real marketing problem and walks through the reasoning behind the decision — not just the tactic.
Ideas you can judge before you hire
Choosing a marketing consultant is a trust decision made with incomplete information.
Most consultancy websites ask you to take competence on faith. A case study is written after the fact, a testimonial is chosen carefully, and a capability list tells you nothing about how someone thinks under pressure. Video closes that gap. When you watch someone explain why they would cut a paid search campaign, restructure a product page hierarchy, or delay a rebrand until the pipeline data is clean, you learn far more about their judgement than any brochure will tell you.
That is the purpose of this page. Every video reflects the same operating philosophy that shapes the consultancy and Fractional CMO work: strategy before tactics, commercial outcomes before vanity metrics, and systems before spend. The topics come from real questions asked by managing directors, sales directors and founders — usually some version of “we are spending money on marketing and we cannot tell what it is doing”. Rather than answering that once, privately, the answer gets recorded so it is useful to businesses that are not yet clients.
The through-line across B2B, retail and SaaS is more consistent than most people expect. An industrial manufacturer selling technical components through a twelve-month buying cycle and a SaaS platform selling a monthly subscription both fail for the same underlying reasons: unclear positioning, a website written for the seller rather than the buyer, channel activity that is not attributed, and a CRM that nobody trusts. Retail brands hit the same wall at a different speed — faster feedback loops, thinner margins, and far less tolerance for wasted media budget. The diagnosis differs in detail, not in structure.
The videos deliberately avoid platform hype. New advertising features and AI tools change monthly; the questions that decide whether marketing works do not. What is the commercial objective? Who is the buyer and what do they need to believe? Which single channel can be made to work reliably before a second one is added? What number will be reviewed at the next leadership meeting, and who owns it? If those four questions have clear answers, most tactical decisions become obvious. If they do not, no amount of budget or tooling will compensate.
Short-form video also suits the way senior teams now research suppliers. Buyers form a shortlist long before they make contact, often through content they consumed passively on LinkedIn, TikTok or Instagram. The same behaviour applies to AI search: generative answer engines increasingly summarise expertise rather than rank pages, and consistent, substantive explanations of a topic are what get cited. Publishing the reasoning behind marketing decisions — in text here and in video alongside it — is simply how credibility is demonstrated in 2026.
Nothing on this page is gated. If a video gives you enough to fix the problem in-house, that is a good outcome; the businesses that eventually become clients are usually the ones who tried, made progress, and then reached the limit of what part-time attention can achieve. That is the point at which fractional marketing leadership pays for itself.
What the videos keep coming back to
- Positioning first: why a clearer answer to “why you” outperforms any channel optimisation
- One channel done properly beats four channels done partially
- Cost per qualified enquiry as the number that decides marketing budgets
- CRM hygiene: marketing cannot be measured through a pipeline nobody updates
- Technical buyers need proof and specification, not lifestyle marketing
