Marketing leadership and growth, without the full-time cost

MCG Growth Marketing is a one-person strategic growth consultancy: Fractional CMO leadership, channel delivery and AI enablement for ambitious B2B, retail and SaaS businesses. Senior judgement first — then the execution that makes the plan pay.

What services does MCG Growth Marketing offer?

MCG Growth Marketing offers four routes: a Fractional CMO retainer providing part-time marketing leadership, a Growth Advisory Retainer for monthly strategic support, marketing consultancy for audits and objective second opinions, and fixed-scope projects covering marketing strategy, SEO, Google Ads, HubSpot CRM implementation and AI-enabled marketing.

How it works

One plan, owned end to end

Strategy decides what is worth doing. Then it is built, measured and reallocated — by me, your team or your agencies — against the numbers that matter to the board.

  1. 01

    Discovery

I start with your commercial numbers: average order value, sales cycle, win rate and growth target. Then I audit what marketing is actually producing today.

  2. 02

    Strategy

A written strategy with named priorities, target segments, proposition, channel plan, budget allocation and the measurement framework behind it.

  3. 03

    Execution

Delivery through your team, your agencies or my network, with clear ownership and deadlines rather than open-ended retainers.

  4. 04

    Optimisation

Monthly review of cost per qualified enquiry by channel, conversion rates and pipeline contribution, then reallocation of budget to what works.

  5. 05

    Growth

Once the fundamentals compound, we widen: new segments, new channels and the internal capability to run it without me.

Who this is for

Three types of business I do my best work with

Technical products and considered purchases inside £1m–£25m SMEs: long sales cycles, multiple decision makers and a board that wants commercial numbers.

Industrial & manufacturing B2B

Technical products sold to engineers, operations and procurement, through long sales cycles and distributor networks.

Retail & ecommerce

Owner-led brands where the growth question is unit economics: contribution margin after ad spend, repeat purchase and lifetime value.

SaaS & technology

Founder-led platforms that need efficient acquisition and retention — activation, trial-to-paid conversion and payback period.

Also welcome: engineering, construction, professional services firms with the same considered-purchase dynamics.

Questions

Choosing the right service

Which marketing service does my business actually need?
It depends on where the constraint is. If no one owns the plan, the budget or the agencies, you need marketing leadership — a Fractional CMO retainer or advisory. If the plan exists but nothing is producing enquiries, you need a channel: SEO, paid media or sector-specific marketing. If the numbers cannot be trusted, start with CRM and reporting. A discovery call exists to name that constraint before you commit budget.
What if I just need a website, not marketing leadership?
Then the Website Design & Build package is the right starting point: a full site of up to 40 pages for a fixed £999, then £100 a month covering amendments, new pages, monitoring and optimisation. It is designed for businesses that want the website outsourced end to end without committing to a Fractional CMO or consultancy engagement.
Can I start with one service and add more later?
Yes, and most clients do. A strategy project or health check usually comes first because it decides what is worth funding; delivery, systems work or AI enablement then follow in priority order. Everything is scoped so it stands alone rather than requiring the full programme.
Do you deliver the work or just advise?
Both, depending on the engagement. Advisory and Fractional CMO work is leadership — the plan, the budget, the briefs and the accountability. Channel and systems engagements include hands-on build and optimisation. Where specialist delivery is better handled by your existing team or agency, I brief and manage them instead of duplicating the cost.
How quickly can we start, and is there a minimum commitment?
Typically within one to two weeks. Retainers run on a rolling monthly basis with a 30-day notice period; projects are fixed scope and fixed fee. There is no long lock-in and no recruitment risk, which is the main practical advantage over hiring a full-time Marketing Director.
